Since we moved from the city to st. Peter's it has been hard to find a restaurant that delivers on taste, quality, and presentation. Tompkins definitely exceeded our expectations! Yes the food did take a little longer to get to our table, but you can tell it was made to order and not just thrown on the plate from a heat lamp. The portion sizes are perfect, designed for you to enjoy an appetizer and main course that let's you leave with enough energy to walk Main street after dinner. I just wish we could find out more about the haunted history. The restaurant was busy so we could not pick his brain. We will be back for sure!

Our group of 7 first visit to the newly remodeled and updated iconic building on St Charles South Main Street. They totally killed it! Our server, Leighann, a serious pro at her job, did wonders with our strange requests. Ask for her when you go here. The menu is different but everything is familiar but tweaked with updated flavors and textures. Our selections ranged from the strip steak to the venison which I had and was outstanding! Also tried the pumpkin soup with delightful add-in treats. The sour dough bread is Wowzer. This is a upscale restaurant and a wonderful relief from the chain, low budget joint that are all around these parts. Tired of "bar restaurants?" Me too. Scrape a couple nickels together, put on a nice shirt, and go to Tompkins-Rack House. Treat yourself and your date.

With a Chef & Sous-Chef, Tompkins delivers spectacular food in the heart of Main St in historic St Charles. They offer a ‘from-scratch’ dining experience sourcing fresh produce from local farms. The sommelier has done a spectacular job of pairing each dish with a glass of wine...the O’Fallon Hen of the Woods Agnolotti with a glass of 6th Sense Syrah was memorable. As was the service by Kristen & Kendall! Chloe, the manager, pays attention and the staff went to great lengths to accomodate my spouse- a celiac & no fructose diner. The building is the former Mother-in-Law House, a registered historic building, which makes for great ambience!

If you haven’t been to Tompkins yet you need to go! Aside from the great food and ambience our service was amazing! Our server LeighAnn was so friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and made great recommendations. Scallops were awesome! And don’t forget the chocolate cake for dessert!

First visit and thoroughly enjoyed it. Love the menu options and healthy food choices. Picked brunch options which were delicious. Service was excellent. Will visit again. Hard to find healthy options in St. Charles, so happy to have this one!
